It has taken me a long time to want to get back to drawing, but I have hit a time in my life where I am unsatisfied enough with where my current art skill is at that I am finally taking the time to get back to it. Since I have grown older I have learned to be a bit more humble about myself, which includes acknowledging how amateur I am at art. I realize now that a lot of this is to do with my lack of foundational art skills. I lack the practice and theory of construction, proportion, perspective, etc. and I have now acknowledged that to fix this, I need to go back to square one and learn these fundamentals properly. For those of you who are still watching me and paying attention. After a long time being away from DeviantArt, I am coming back again. This time it will be a bit different though. For a few months, most of my uploaded work will be landscape, life art, and figure drawings in pencil. I am trying to go back to my roots and develop some drawing skill that I feel like I am severely missing (proportions, perspective to name a couple). For a while I don't want to focus on illustration and symbolic drawing (that will come later) I will be mostly focused on drawing exercises and drawing from real life.
